It’s the 21st century. The days of deciding to attend college based on a brochure and a campus visit are over. High school students today must navigate a dizzying process to find the college that is right for them. The days of making a decision based on a brochure and a campus visit are over. The search for college information occurs in a world where social media offers quick access to an ocean of infinite answers and opinions. The flurry of information can leave students overwhelmed and create false, harmful, or unproductive perceptions of high education - especially for students from underrepresented backgrounds and communities.

The Content Lab is a new initiative in the Harvard College Office of Admissions and Financial Aid that aims to address this problem by empowering students to tell their stories through digital media. Through creating digital content that prospective college students can identify with, our goal is to communicate useful information, perspectives, and ideas that help students apply to the right schools for them.

Looking for an Internship?

In the Content Lab, we empower students to tell their stories. As interns, students will tell their stories and those of their peers through producing innovative, web-native content. All Harvard undergraduates are welcome to apply. Though some background in video or multimedia production will be useful, no experience is required.
